20 months

This will be Beau's last month as our only baby. People have started saying things to me about how great it will be that they are close in age. I hope so. I am officially feeling exhausted. Beau has been exhausting lately and I although I still can do my fair share of "Mama jump,.... Mama run,.... and "Beau ride", I'm wishing I could take my belly off for a little while and Mama could "sleep." When I'm really tired, Beau and I play "nigh-night" which works for about 5 minutes before something new is required of me. People keep asking my if Beau understands. No- he doesn't and I can't possibly prepare him. He seems to need my constant attention now and also is beginning to test all boundaries so I am spending ALL of my waking time actively parenting. He is frustrated constantly and I find myself saying things like "he was such a happy baby" but I know that he is healthy and happy (mostly) and about as securely attached as you can get. He is talking in short sentences and trying to make sense of things. He calls the ocean 'big tubby' and told me that 'Mama wear big shirt' when I told him I couldn't find one that was big enough. He know who lives at Nana's house and Mimi's house and Emmy and Jane's houses. He is loving books more than ever. He is the best and worst ever all at once. I figure that will be our theme beginning february 27th and lasting... well, a while.

I'm sure it will be great to have them so close together, I'm just not sure WHEN it will be great! Beau will love that baby right away, I bet! I'm hoping it's also great to have them 16 months apart! :) Hang in there, I hope you get some rest this weekend. You know, cause weekends are so great and restful. :)
