The Boys- 4 and 2.5

I'm fairly certain- even when my children are older, I will still say that a 4 yr old boy is my favorite 'kind'. He still rocks at night, spontaneously wraps his arms around me but he is independent and careful and so grown up in some ways. Beau takes himself so seriously. Determined and focused, he still manages to love to play and be silly. He is interested in everything and has endless amounts of energy. He plays a little hard-to-get with people but is deeply loyal to his brother and other family members. He asks big questions about suffering, God, death but is so practical. We recently watched the wizard of oz and he asked me a million questions about things that 'just don't make sense' including 'Mama, if the witch wants the shoes so bad...Why doesn't she just reach out and take them off Dorothy's feet." He remains a super-jock and loves to play with his daddy and uncles. He remembers the things that I forget, is considerate of me and remembers when people are sick or hurt or sad. He has already begun worrying about his kindergarten shots (proving he belongs to me ;) and I fear he will worry and be anxious. Still, he has such joy now- as a 4 year old little boy. I want to freeze time. I appreciate his complexities and love that he recognizes that in the world.
