Mimi and Nom bought Beau this train table for Christmas and we decided to move our couch out to make room for all of his toys- not to mention the eventual new baby gear. When I was getting Beau out of the car tonight he said "Choo-choo in dare." He was very excited to see his train and played with it for 15 minutes (which if you know Beau is a really long time) before he started running in circles like a dog chasing his tail. He is talking so much. When he gets hurt, he tells me "I bonk" and then "Mama rock" and we have to go rock in the rocking chair. He's saying 'pease' without prompting and today I told him I was hungry and he went in to the other room and told Mimi "Mama nack" and brought me a box of cookies. He wants me to sing "janie-beaus' (jingle bells) all of the time. Things are easier with him now that he can communicate although he has a severe case of Mama-crush right now and my baby belly may be misshapen due to carrying a 30 lb toddler around all day on top of baby brother. Although I think it's crazy when people decide things about their children prematurely but I swear, baby brother is sooo not as wild as his brother was. Some of the new baby nervousness is beginning to set in. My biggest worry is that due to baby karma, I will get a hard baby (Beau was an easy baby) and be stuck with a crying miserable baby and a needy toddler with a personality disorder. But, if I have learned anything from motherhood, it's that everything is temporary and the night you think you just can't do it anymore, someone gives you an unprompted kiss or sleeps the entire night without waking you. Ryan and I are both so excited to have our boys be so close in age and although I am feeling weighed down by all of the boy :) I am really looking forward to meeting baby brother. I'm certain he will be darker (like my family), laid back (right?) and weigh 8 lbs (a girl can dream). I don't know why I posted so much tonight- the holidays make me think about all that I have as well as bringing out all of my anxiety. It's a strange combination. Thanks so much to all of our family for all of Beau's (and Mama and Daddy's) presents that will keep him busy for a good 5 minutes at least :) He loves all of you so much. I can hardly keep up with who he tells me he needs to see each day. I am so thankful to have you all so close by. It is an unmeasurable gift for our family.

Love Beau's train table!!! It looks like trains were popular gifts this year!
that is one cool train table. i can't imagine what i would do without my family down the street. isn't it the best thing ever?
I love that train table, you are kind people letting your couch go so it will fit! I do not believe in baby karma, because I felt I deserved a good baby after Anthony and I got Maria! So maybe you'll get an easy baby again, I hope so!
i can't wait to meet the little one! you have the best family, remind me a lot of mine and you are SO lucky to have them close. this time of year is tough for me being so far away! i want to come play with the train table! it's awesome!
I love what you said about what motherhood has taught you. Thank you--I really needed that tonight!
